Travel Americas

San Francisco, California, USA

San Francisco Favorites:

Best coffee shop to hang at: Java Beach Cafe (on La Playa & Judah St, accessible by Muni line N from downtown towards Judah/La Playa/Ocean Beach) … then walk to the beach

with a car, head North from here on the Great Hwy towards Sutro Baths, find a cool Golden Gate bridge view from there or continue on to Baker Beach

The viewpoint from Twin Peaks is a winner.

The Haight Ashbury area is actually pretty fun! Easy to walk around & be entertained…

Golden Gate Park is cool, it is BIG. There are cool events at the museums Thursday nights I think? Often concerts as well… best with a tour guide

Riding a cable car is over-rated in my personal opinion…as is the wharf…

Boutique shopping in the Marina (on Chestnut Ave) followed by drinks at The Tipsy Pig (I leave after 10pm because the Marina turns into BRO TOWN)

The best tacos in town can be found at La Taqueria on Mission Street between 24th & 25th (a short walk from the 24th St. Mission Bart stop) then I’d walk up to Valencia on your way to Dolores Park. I also love a couple restaurants in that area.

The rooftop bar/restaurant at El Techo is great. Chambers Eat & Drink for dinner/drinks followed by Bourbon & Branch (the password is books) can’t be missed. Rick house & Smuggler’s Cove are good bars. Brunch at Brenda’s French Soul Food in the Tenderloin is unforgettable. Warfare Tavern (near downtown) is yummy. Burma Superstar and Pizza Orgazmica are fun & good.

Lots of people go out on Polk Street, there are tons of bars there so hop around!

If you want to check out the club scene, the Grand nightclub and Infusion Lounge are popular (I refuse to go without a VIP table though— it gets crowded!) I’d recommend saving clubbing for Vegas, but if that’s your mood…options.
